Bus Driver Appreciation

September 22, 2016

It’s football time in Tennessee and time to celebrate Bus Driver Appreciation Day in Hawkins County Schools using a Ultimate Tailgating theme. The HCBOE has passed a resolution declaring September 22nd as Bus Driver Appreciation Day. Students across the area will enjoy using various Ultimate Tailgating activities such as an ESPN College Game Day-like experience for the bus drivers as they drop the students off at the school on the morning of Bus Driver Appreciation Day. An attitude of gratitude spreads all over a school when all the students and staff members appreciate each other. Utrust’s Employee Appreciation Program sets aside eight different appreciation days throughout the year to honor and celebrate various employees.  Each set of staff member honorees are celebrated using a different, fun theme. Director of Schools Steve Starnes and the Hawkins County Board of Education recognize bus drivers play a vital role in the success of the schools. “We are so grateful for our fantastic bus drivers and we want to be the first to say thanks for a job well done. We count on our drivers to transport our students safely every day and their dedication and hard work deserve recognition.”

Thank you for the job you do each day – we appreciate each bus driver, bus shop staff, and our mechanics!
